Now we divide the sum from Step 2 by 8. Put the remainder aside. Then divide the whole part by 8 again, and put the remainder aside again. Keep doing this until the whole part is 0.

52605 ÷ 8 = 6575 with 5 remainder
6575 ÷ 8 = 821 with 7 remainder
821 ÷ 8 = 102 with 5 remainder
102 ÷ 8 = 12 with 6 remainder
12 ÷ 8 = 1 with 4 remainder
1 ÷ 8 = 0 with 1 remainder

Step 4)
In the final step, we take the remainders from Step 3 and put them together in reverse order to get our answer to CD7D hexadecimal to octal:

CD7D hexadecimal = 146575 octal
