2974 ÷ 8 = 371 with 6 remainder
371 ÷ 8 = 46 with 3 remainder
46 ÷ 8 = 5 with 6 remainder
5 ÷ 8 = 0 with 5 remainder

Step 4)
In the final step, we take the remainders from Step 3 and put them together in reverse order to get our answer to B9E hexadecimal to octal:
