Now we divide the sum from Step 2 by 8. Put the remainder aside. Then divide the whole part by 8 again, and put the remainder aside again. Keep doing this until the whole part is 0.
43951 ÷ 8 = 5493 with 7 remainder
5493 ÷ 8 = 686 with 5 remainder
686 ÷ 8 = 85 with 6 remainder
85 ÷ 8 = 10 with 5 remainder
10 ÷ 8 = 1 with 2 remainder
1 ÷ 8 = 0 with 1 remainder
Step 4)
In the final step, we take the remainders from Step 3 and put them together in reverse order to get our answer to ABAF hexadecimal to octal:
