Now we divide the sum from Step 2 by 8. Put the remainder aside. Then divide the whole part by 8 again, and put the remainder aside again. Keep doing this until the whole part is 0.

42544 ÷ 8 = 5318 with 0 remainder
5318 ÷ 8 = 664 with 6 remainder
664 ÷ 8 = 83 with 0 remainder
83 ÷ 8 = 10 with 3 remainder
10 ÷ 8 = 1 with 2 remainder
1 ÷ 8 = 0 with 1 remainder

Step 4)
In the final step, we take the remainders from Step 3 and put them together in reverse order to get our answer to A630 hexadecimal to octal:

A630 hexadecimal = 123060 octal
