Step 2)
Next, we add up all the products we got from Step 1, like this:

10 + 240 + 1024 + 40960 = 42234

Step 3)
Now we divide the sum from Step 2 by 8. Put the remainder aside. Then divide the whole part by 8 again, and put the remainder aside again. Keep doing this until the whole part is 0.

42234 ÷ 8 = 5279 with 2 remainder
5279 ÷ 8 = 659 with 7 remainder
659 ÷ 8 = 82 with 3 remainder
82 ÷ 8 = 10 with 2 remainder
10 ÷ 8 = 1 with 2 remainder
1 ÷ 8 = 0 with 1 remainder

Step 4)
In the final step, we take the remainders from Step 3 and put them together in reverse order to get our answer to A4FA hexadecimal to octal:

A4FA hexadecimal = 122372 octal
