Now we divide the sum from Step 2 by 8. Put the remainder aside. Then divide the whole part by 8 again, and put the remainder aside again. Keep doing this until the whole part is 0.

27138 ÷ 8 = 3392 with 2 remainder
3392 ÷ 8 = 424 with 0 remainder
424 ÷ 8 = 53 with 0 remainder
53 ÷ 8 = 6 with 5 remainder
6 ÷ 8 = 0 with 6 remainder

Step 4)
In the final step, we take the remainders from Step 3 and put them together in reverse order to get our answer to 6A02 hexadecimal to octal:

6A02 hexadecimal = 65002 octal
