Now we divide the sum from Step 2 by 8. Put the remainder aside. Then divide the whole part by 8 again, and put the remainder aside again. Keep doing this until the whole part is 0.

12810 ÷ 8 = 1601 with 2 remainder
1601 ÷ 8 = 200 with 1 remainder
200 ÷ 8 = 25 with 0 remainder
25 ÷ 8 = 3 with 1 remainder
3 ÷ 8 = 0 with 3 remainder

Step 4)
In the final step, we take the remainders from Step 3 and put them together in reverse order to get our answer to 320A hexadecimal to octal:

320A hexadecimal = 31012 octal
