12986 ÷ 2 = 6493 with 0 remainder
6493 ÷ 2 = 3246 with 1 remainder
3246 ÷ 2 = 1623 with 0 remainder
1623 ÷ 2 = 811 with 1 remainder
811 ÷ 2 = 405 with 1 remainder
405 ÷ 2 = 202 with 1 remainder
202 ÷ 2 = 101 with 0 remainder
101 ÷ 2 = 50 with 1 remainder
50 ÷ 2 = 25 with 0 remainder
25 ÷ 2 = 12 with 1 remainder
12 ÷ 2 = 6 with 0 remainder
6 ÷ 2 = 3 with 0 remainder
3 ÷ 2 = 1 with 1 remainder
1 ÷ 2 = 0 with 1 remainder

Step 4)
In the final step, we take the remainders from Step 3 and put them together in reverse order to get our answer to CAE8 hexadecimal to binary:
